A stranger, bigger than both, appeared and, seeing the small boy's plight, grabbed the big boy by the nape of the neck and pulled him off the small boy. Now freed, the small boy jumped to his feet, spit the sand out of his mouth, and attacked the stranger. "You leave my brother alone," he screamed. The "bad" big brother became the "good" big brother when the stranger interfered!

As the first of 33 miners trapped 2,300 feet underground in the collapsed mine in San Jose, Chile stepped out of the Phoenix rescue capsule, the sirens sounded across the Copiapo Mine, the families clapped and shouted with joy. After 69 days the first man had been brought to the surface. As I watched I thought of a similar but even greater rescue. From greater depths, an even greater number of fine men were brought out.
